Natural Materials

On Thursday I got a change to visit Central Slovakian Gallery in Banská Bystrica. There was exhibition called Natural Materials created by the artists Michal Šimonfy and Richard Loskot. For me it was really interesting because the whole exhibition was based on nature.


We saw 6 amazing installations.

This light installation impressed me the most. Maybe it's because I like roses :) and of course it has deep meaning behind it.

Discussions That Lead Elsewhere by Maria Čorejová

Maria Čorejová is a Slovak artist & designer.

This is one example of the Maria Čorejová creation.The dark 
black symbolizes water and the background consists
of grass.

The exhibition called Discussions That Lead Elsewhere is part of the project organized by The Museum of the Future by 13 kubikov.

This exhibition was very interresting for me because I think that it was exciting to look at the picture and try to understand its meaning and I really like that during my stay in the gallery , they played music that was created especially for this exhibition.

I think with this exhibition she tried to explain that people have a certain direction to which their life is leading but there are always situations that make us change and the direction changes as well. Therefore, even in all of images there is an interruption.(That's only my view on this exhibition!!!)

Orriginal painting is called EO INSTANTO (at this moment) but this is
only my reproduction of the painting. I worked on this picture with my friend
Jana.We used the Black Paper on the expression of frames and the arrow
 shows that everything is heading east.

I was returning from a dance competition from the Czech Republic and while I was sitting on the bench at the Bus stop and waiting for my dad, two guys stopped before me. I think they were under the influence of some substance because they were talking about avatars so I was a little scared. One of them spoke to me and asked me some questions but the other guy was quiet the whole time and the only thing he told me was, that they would stab me but they soon left without really doing anything. I was in shock and I just sat on the bench until my father came.

It is almost surrounded by mountains on all sides and goes back quite far into the uninhabited desert.It is not open to the public, only the military and just the chosen few. It lies at the bottom of a huge dry lake "Groom", which passes across the longest landing strip in the world.This is the area where they first conducted underground tests of nuclear weapons, where they held a secret U.S. military exercises that were simulating outbreak of a third world war. They perform research and training flights with the latest types of fighter aircraft of the U.S. Air Force for the first time in here.

EARTH HOUR

Earth Hour is a worldwide event organized by the World Wild For Nature (WWF).Millions of people around the world switch off their lights for Earth Hour at 8.30pm (20:30) in their local times on 23 of March.

I Will If You Will is an Earth Hour campaign to encourage positive action for the environment. It could be big or small and it may be a simple lifestyle change or maybe something that leads to a political change.Challenges can be created or accepted on Earth Hour's YouTube channel.

Iconic buildings and landmarks from Europe to Asia to the America have stood in darkness during previous Earth Hours. Some people enjoy Earth Hour with a candle-lit dinner or a candle-lit bath, while others host large events or parties, either in darkness or with candles, to celebrate Earth Hour.

Maybe this world is not so bad :)

Sometimes I think that in the world, there is not left even a little kindness, but these few pictures proove that  there are still good people who selflessly help not only others, but also even risk their lives to save the unfortunate animals. They just do a nice deed to please someone completely strange.

Youth Without Youth

Contens:This film is about a old man, Dominic Matei, who was struck by lightning. His body recovered very fast and he was reborn as a man, who was only 40 years old. He was a young man once again and on top of that, this shock "amplified fabulously all his mental faculties", making for a scholar fantasy of being able to remember everything he read and learnt. He also knew many languages. There's a plenty of interesting and  unusual occurrences. Matei had his protectors, but there were many who were very interested in whether he really was a living proof that this crazy rejuvenation-process-theory works. He had to hide because he was followed by Nacists. Then war broke out and he met his love, but they could not be together because she aged very quickly next to him, so he had to leave her.

Review: "This is definitely not everyone's cup of tea and has a pretty good chance of becoming a cult film. It explores major philosophic subjects from a dialectic angle, which might confuse pedestrians. In a nutshell: an elderly professor is challenged by his inability to complete his life's work. He is struck by lightning and gets the opportunity to observe life from a meta-human POV. He realizes that intellect, love , morals and reality in general are always ambiguous. IMO one must have some intellectual baggage, life experience and artistic curiosity in order to appreciate the profoundness of this film. Artistically, the film is very stylized and has a rather cold feel to it, something that might deter and alienate the viewer from actually empathizing with any of the characters. However, it's quite clever and stays with you after watching it. I would say that it felt to me a bit like a Darren Aronofsky film combined with Greenaway's Tulse Luper."

My feeling from this film:I admit that I was entertained only at the beginning and then I was lost in the story. In my opinion, it was a good idea with lighting and with his supernatural abillities but when Veronica (his love)  arrived and she was also strucked by lighting it became a little boring.

Process of creating from trees books:

1. Trees are cut down.
2. The wood is taken by a lorry to the paper mill, where it is cut into very small pieces called "chips".
3. The chips are cooked with a lot of water.
4. The mixture is pressed onto large flat metal sheets onto big rolls.
5. The rolls of paper are sent to the factories where they are made into books.

Benedict XVI announces resignation

Despite the fact, that resignation of the Pope is unconventional, this option exists in the Vatican laws.

85 years old Benedict is the first head of the Catholic Church, that has decided to do so in the last 600 years. Benedict XVI. has done it two months before his 86th birthday.

The reason for his resignation is health. He thinks, that his strength, due to advanced age, is no longer sufficient to perform the office of Peter in an orderly manner.

This is my favourite photo.I don´t know why exactly.I really like it even though I don´t remember who took the photo. I only found it in my camera. Probably it was shot somewhere in Croatia.

(Piazza di Spagna) There are 135 stairs in Roma.(I counted them) I was there with my older sister. And the church behind is called Trinità dei Monti.

 It´s also in Roma. I think I stood on some cathedral in Vatican city. :D
